The A in 077A means you can take of the front of the plane and use it as a chisel plane.
It needs a buff up to bring ut back looking spick and span but 10 -15 mins should do this.

The 2 attachments are matched to the main plane body and should have the same number stamped in them to ensure perfect matching (this plane has this).

There is relatively little wear to the sole and all the things to check for in these planes have all passed (the sole moves freely, no cracks in the casting, all original parts, mouth rivets are not proud of the sole, the lateral blade adjuster works properly, full convex and concave range etc etc).

Designed for quick stock removal deep down in a large bowl.
Allongee pattern, this means the blade tapers outwards from the shoulder to the cutting edge.
The cutting edge is 50mm (2") corner to corner, the bevel is ground to 25 degrees with a large no.18 sweep. Total length is 305mm (12").
This massive gouge has a beech handle 150mm (6") long with brass ferule.
