Product Description

There is no makers mark for this beech hand brass with brass escutcheons.

The brass button that releases your bit from the brace is stiff (but you would be after 100 years or so) but it is working and will free up.

This brace has a lovely patina. The head rotates freely as it should . The head may be rosewood but years of grubby carpenters hands have deposited blood sweat and tears all over the tool which adds to its charm (not sure there is any blood or sweat or tears to be honest, it’s just a bit dirty from a 100 years of use) so it isn't that easy to tell.

This is genuinely a very nice vintage tool in uncleaned condition which would clean up beautifully (although we would be tempted to just give the wood a slight clean and leave the brass well alone unless you like your tools shiny!).
