In Good ++ (G++) condition with superficial scratch marks consistent with light use, this plane has been well cared for.

The A2 iron pre-dates the PMV-11 blades that tend to be supplied with more recent models. Supplied in original packaging and with a Veritas plane sock.

This is a very useful plane for working difficult grain. It is quite heavy with an adjustable mouth that can be closed to a narrow slit for fine shavings with minimum tear out and opened wide for heavier cuts.

The blade setting is simple with the combined feed and sideways adjustment knob.

The 12 degree bed angle combined with the 38 degree bevel give an effective York pitch angle of 50 degrees which is more suitable for tricky grain.

The wide blade is interchangeable with the low angle jack plane from Veritas as it is the same width and thickness – how very convenient.
