This plane is a Stanley Bailey 4 ½ smoother that has a black japanned body and frog with stained beech replacement handle with high front knob (see trade label) and lever cap from Record . It also has the considerable benefit of a hand forged 2 3/8” wide replacement blade by Clifton, Sheffield. It also has a Hock cap iron.

So, one very good plane made up of 4 famous names.
