Product Description

Pfeil Palm Carving Tools are for cutting and carving wood or lino.

They have pear handles, 135mm overall length, and 80mm blade length. These short handles fit snugly in the palm for excellent control, are primarily categorized by their blade shape and sweep (curve).

They are for pushing with your palm, rather than striking with a mallet. So essentially you will be working on small scale carvings or doing some lino or woodcutting with these tools.

The sets of 8 tools (see separate section) include a wooden stand (340 x 145 x 50mm, weight 850g). There are two sets available:

B8er - A, this set includes: B1/12, B1s/12, B3/12, B5/12, B7/14, B8a/10, B9/10 & B12/8.

B8er - B, this set includes: B2/12, B4/12, B7L/12, B8/10, B9/7, B11/7, B15/6 & B25/10.

"I went to Classic Hand Tools to purchase a larger hooked bent gouge for wooden bowl carving, in the knowledge they stock a carefully chosen selection of this type of hand tool. I decided on the Pfeil B7L 12mm and have not regretted my choice, it is an ideal size for my purposes, its delivered razor sharp out of the box and has one of the best handles for heavy gouging work on wooden bowls. The gouge has been in regular use on some fairly tough wood, but can be easily stropped back to razor sharpness whenever required."
