Henry Taylor Heavy Duty Socket Firmer Chisels
Product Description
These Henry Taylor chisels have a thicker and longer socket than their bevel edge chisels. This gives them added strength and durability which makes them popular with timber framers.
The handle is made from Ash and has a heavy brass hoop. The handles are hard wearing but should you need to change a handle it is easy to do so with the socketed design. Replacement handles can be made or purchased.

"I purchased a Henry Taylor Socket chisel from Classic Hand Tools, and found the service and shipping prompt and polite. As for the chisel, so far so good. It has been used for cutting mortice and tenon joinery on large section Cypress & Messmate posts and beams. A good sized framers chisel, holds a sharp edge and seems durable after prolonged used for heavy chopping."
