ECE Dovetail Plane [Pre-owned]

Product Description

This is a beech bodied plane with a hornbeam sole from German maker E C Emmerich, founded in Germany in 1852.

The skew blade is wedged with adjustment made by striking the strike button at the rear of the plane to loosen the wedge before tapping the iron to adjust depth.

A simple thumbscrew loosens the knicker iron for adjustment.

There is little wear to this plane, and the strike button shows minimal signs of being “struck” so this plane presents in nearly new condition, Very good (G++) to Fine (F)

The latest model of this plane has a 4-point knicker iron which is neater but is more fiddly. The new version also retails for about £150!
