Clifton No.6 Fore Plane
Product Description
This plane has been out of its packaging only a few times and has very minimal cosmetic marking (very faint small scratches on the sole and a very small chip to body paint behind the rear handle - 4mm x 2mm).
Hand forged 2 3/8" wide blade with 2 piece cap iron, Bedrock frog.
Bubinga handles, green bodied.
The orignal letter of welcome to this plane from former Managing Director Alan Reid is included which dates this plane to at least 10 years ago.
Condition is Fine.
A Clifton No.6 Fore/Jack Plane is 18" long (45cm).
- The Bedrock design frog allows for maximum contact between frog and plane body, and gives you easier, more precise adjustment of the mouth.
- The blade with this plane is hand forged carbon steell (as opposed to the cryogenically treated O1 steel, blades supplied with Clifton planes now).
- Whilst current Clifton handplanes now come with a single piece cap iron, this beauty comes with the superior 2 piece assembly..
