Chris Vesper of Australia is one of those makers who gets it right. He just doesn’t compromise on making sure his tools do exactly what they are supposed to, and that usually comes with a hefty price tag as the workmanship in his hand tool is legendary.

When the Aussie dollar strengthened so much, it was simply too expensive for Classic Hand Tools to bring Chris’ tools into the UK (alongside that of Colen Clenton’s marvellous gauges). So we have lost touch with Chris & Colen. We sent The British & Irish Lions down to remind them who we are though (2-1 to The Lions!).

It is a delight to handle one of Chris Vesper’s tools again.

This is his mini joinery/marking knife with thick flat bodied Tasmanian blackwood handle with a thick brass ferrule.

The knife is 6” overall with a bevelled spear point blade for use both directions.

So comfortable to use with a pencil like grip.

The handle has some minor dinks but overall, this is a stunning little beauty.
