Auriou Curving (Chairmakers) Rasp

Product Description

Called a curving rasp but also known as a chair makers rasp due to its usefulness for shaping the crest rail or seat of a chair or working any large concave surface. Michel Auriou also comments that this rasp is effective when working along the grain and is very useful in shaping cabriole legs.

250mm (10") overall with coarse grain 7 teeth for rapid stock removal.

One end is a tapered half-round in section and the other is a round ended rectangle with a half round section.

Both ends are stitched only on the convex side.

Comfortable octagonal handle.
