Available as a variable pitch version (10") with the teeth on the blade starting at 20tpi and gradually getting larger up to around 10tpi at the end of the blade. This type of saw allows easy starting of cuts and faster cuts due to the coarser teeth towards the end of the blade.
These Pax 1776 saws are the premium range made by Thomas Flinn & Co in Sheffield, England. The tenon saws are beautifuly crafted with a heavy brass back which is folded to give the blade its tension. The open handles are made from Walnut and have solid brass split but screw and medallion. If you like a heavier saw, then this might well be the one for you.
