"Original iron in my "modern" Stanley 60½ was so soft I couldn't remove the burr, and even when I did, it would form again after a few strokes. After replacing it with this blade from Ray Iles, the plane cuts so good it's just amazing.
Of course it needed some honing and edge filing, but that's to be expected. I am very satisfied and will definitely buy blades for my other planes as well. "
