Blue Spruce Toolworks new Optima Chisels feature a lapped and polished back with a flatness measured in light bands (the same system used to measure silicon wafers). When you unbox your new Optima Chisels, they’re razor sharp and 100% ready to go to work.
Each Optima Chisel is machined from A2 tool steel, then double-tempered and cryogenically treated. The tempering and cryo treatments result in an incredibly fine grain structure and a hardness of Rockwell C-60 to C-62.
The chisel blades extend 4 1/2" beyond the ferrule. The resin infused Curly Maple handles fit most hands comfortably for both mallet work and delicate paring cuts.

"What a lovely chisel! It comes with a mirror finished back, so you don't have to spend loads of time and materials on polishing the back before using it, which is a huge bonus.
The only thing that could be improved is that the handle needs a flat on it to stop it rolling around ."
