Auriou Super Rifflers for intricate work - old stock - same great quality!
5½" (140mm) - GRAIN 15
These Auriou rifflers have such tiny heads for the most delicate of finishing detail work.
The stitch is 15 which is the finest "cut"
Curved lozenge shape on one end and a curved laurel leaf shape on the other. Very delicate as each head is no more than 13mm (1/2") long by 3mm (1/8") wide.
These are hand stitched (the teeth are raised on the riffler blank by the strike of a special stitching "pick" by the drop of a rasp makers hammer). This very difficult traditional method has been in operation by the various incarnations of Auriou Toolworks since 1856. These rifflers are not that old but they are "old" stock of about 12 years vintage.
Slight age blemished. Not "seconds" just old stock combinations and this stitch and size of head is not produced anymore. Forgetastic!
