Veritas Shooting Grip
Product Description
Inspired by the side-mounted horn found on antique Scottish miter planes, this optional grip provides a secure and comfortable handhold when using a plane on its side.
The horn is made from torrefied maple and allows you to drive the plane with the web of your thumb while your fingers hold it firmly against the workpiece—leaving your other hand free for support and control.
It can be mounted on either the left or right side of all the Veritas custom bevel-down bench planes, as well as the low-angle jack plane (new version) and jack rabbet plane, using the same tapped holes as the adjustable fence and secured with a pair of screws.
A milled aluminum base plate with slotted mounting holes allows the horn to be positioned forward or backward, letting you fine-tune its placement for comfort and to suit the layout of the plane.
Made in Canada.
