Somax No. 250 is a widely regarded Japanese-made, pistol-grip style saw setting tool used to adjust the set of saw teeth (typically 4-12 TPI) for improved cutting performance

The Somax 250 is known for being a reliable, lightweight alloy alternative to the classic Eclipse models, it is used to alternate the bending of teeth left and right.

Similar in function to the Eclipse 77 and a copy of the Stanley 42X, it features a plunger that grabs the blade before setting the tooth, ensuring a precise, low-effort set.

The tool has a rotating anvil to adjust for different TPI (Teeth Per Inch) settings.

Designed for saw teeth from 4 to 12 TPI, making it suitable for handsaws, tenon saws, and large saws.
