Crown Tools Spindle Gouge
The Crown Spindle Gouges are available in 2 sizes, 3/8'' (10mm) and 1/2'' (13mm).
Standard spindle gouges are made by milling a shallow flute from a round bar.
The diameter of the bar dictates the size of the gouge. These gouges are used mostly for detail work like beads and coves.

These are Crown Tools versions of Continental Spindle Gouges which are similar to the old carbon steel gouges.
Continental spindle gouges are made by forging a curved blade from a flat bar (similar to a roughing gouge but shallower) and depending on the size can be used like a standard gouge and also a small roughing gouge.
