Product Description

These are the popular Shapton Kuromaku Professional Series Stones, also known as Shapton Professional or Shapton Pro whetstones. These ceramic stones wear slowly and cut quickly, making them ideal for sharpening woodworking blades, chisels, kitchen knives, and straight razors.

No soaking is needed - just splash water on the surface, and you're ready to go. However, do not store them wet.

Occasional flattening is required for optimal performance. Use the Shapton Diamond Flattening Plate, DMT Dia-Flat plates, or the Shapton Lapping System "Naoru." Wet and dry paper on a flat surface works for occasional users.

We stock all grits, from White 120 grit (K0701 Extra Coarse) for removing material from damaged blades to Purple 30,000 grit (K0711 Super Fine) for the ultimate finish. A recommended sequence for woodworking tools is 120 - 320 - 1000 - 5000 - 12,000 grits.

Each stone comes in a plastic case with rubber feet, doubling as a holder.
The stone measures 210mm x 70mm x 15mm (8 1/4'' x 2 3/4'' x 5/8'').
