10 ½" overall, 1 1/2" wide, with 3 1/2" long blade.

Original handle with brass ferrule and leather washer.

Sash pocket chisels are medium length chisels designed to cut the 'pocket piece' in the side of the frame of a sash sliding window. This pocket piece is the removeable wooden 'window' to enable access into the space at each side of sash windows where the sash cords run.\

Thos. Wales & Sons was a prominent toolmaker in Sheffield, a great city known for its steel production and high-quality tools as well as a fine pub called The Museum where Classic Hand Tools proprietor Mike Hancock enjoyed a birthday 45 years ago!
