"This is a beautiful little plane, however, I can say while I think it's great, it's let down by some very basic things, especially for something at £129. The finish of the brass and even some of the wood (indents for internal locking thumbwheels) should be perfect. Sadly, mine at least still had uneven surfaces with maching marking and not smoothly sanded. The wood indents were still rough to touch. The mechanism to adjust wdth of chamfer and sliding centre block cutter were so stiff, that it all needed disassembly, holes and internal/external block/fence faces being fettled for movement to be clean and easy (not loose), and waxed so as to move without sticking. Also and most sadly, it comes in a plastic bag!? No box, no user manual. £30 planes have boxes, so why on earth doesn't this? Once all of this was done, it is easy to set up and use. Blade is good out of box, and perfect after sharpening. So, something beautiful and useful, low volume production I would imagine, but let down by poor quality control, and packaging I would expect on £10 import items. Still happy I have it, now it's working smoothly, but at £129, I would expect better."
