Marblewood or Angelim Rajado or Serpent Wood.
5 1/2'' x 5 1/2'' x 4'' (140mm x 140mm x 100mm)
Kiln Dried.
The black or maroon coloured streaks within the yellowy-beige heartwood give this wood a very interesting marbled look.
This wood is not readily available hence its price tag.
It is often used for knife handles, guitar making and woodturning.
It originates from Guyana, Surinam in South America.
The limited blanks we have appear to be very crisp with little defect although this species does often suffer from small cracks, knots and small holes, so be aware of this when purchasing.
