The Henry Taylor bent, or 'cranked neck' design of these special paring chisels allows the craftsman to use the chisel with the blade absolutely flat on the stock at all times.

"Just the tool I needed for one particular specialty task in piano work. The chisel arrived promptly. However it was defective, as the cranked neck was out of plane...cranked to the side, hard to use that way.
