Customer Reviews

By Jonathan Reynolds on 9th February 2024
"I bought the Extra Coarse diamond 'stone' to do the grunt work of re-establishing a correct grind angle, especially on mortise chisels and thick plane irons, where there's a lot of metal to remove. I am fully equipped with various natural and composite stones to do the remaining sharpening. I'm very pleased with my purchase. The guide on the Classic Hand Tools website was truly helpful in choosing the appropriate grade for my needs. The stone is very heavy, doesn't move during use, and cuts rapidly. The grind marks it leaves are a little hard to eradicate with my other stones, so I could perhaps use the next grade down as well to bridge the gap. However, these diamond stones are expensive, so I must put this off for the future. "
