Product Reference: WWST-Black
This model is completely made from the engineering polymer Delrin making it heavier than the original wooden version. The 'Black' travisher has very similar wear properties of the original wooden travisher that James' designed. With the added bonus of being almost indestructible. The added weight (over the original wooden version) gives this travisher some serious heft which really helps in the cut.
Used after the adze and scorp, the travisher can remove wood quickly to create the final shape; but by re-positioning the blade with the two grub screws it can also produce very fine shavings. This unique design is very comfortable to use, which is unencumbered with screws or gaps as found on alternative makes. The shavings are freely expelled through the large slot in the top of the tool.
The carbon steel blade is made by Ben Orford who is well known for making woodworking tools and knives.
