Veritas Beading Blades for Combination & Small Plough Planes
All blades are made from PM-V11® tool steel. Blades are made in Canada. These blades are suitable for both the Veritas Small Plough Plane and Veritas Combination Plane.
These blades let you use the small plow plane to create decorative beading on workpieces. The blades are available in 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" bead diameters. A 1/16" groove is cut on either side of the bead.
Veritas Large Beading Blades for Combination Planes
These large beading blades are for use only with the combination plane, and are available in 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2" bead diameters. All blades cut a 1/16" groove on either side of the blade. Made in Canada.
Veritas Fluting Blades for Combination Planes
For use with the combination plane, these blades are used to create decorative concave fluting on workpieces. The PM-V11 steel blades are available in 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" flute diameters. Made in Canada.
Veritas Reeding Blades for Combination Plane
For use with the combination plane only, these PM-V11 steel reeding blades are available in two-, three- and four-reed versions, with 1/8", 3/16" or 1/4" diameter reeds. A 1/16" groove (also known as a quirk) is cut on either side of each reed. Made in Canada.
Veritas Modified Skate Small Plough Plane
From 1 March 2016, Veritas Small Plough Planes will have a modified skate profile allowing the use of beading blades (all three sizes).
The skate on the new version of the plane is much narrower than the original. For anyone wishing to use an older model with the beading cutters, the narrower skate is available to retrofit to the existing plane.
Veritas Depth Stop Upgrade for Small Plow Plane
In 2016, we made a design change to the clamp mechanism to grip the depth stop shaft with more force, reducing the chance of inadvertently pushing the depth stop to a new position while the plane is in use.
This change is completely compatible with planes purchased before February 26, 2016.
