Veritas Small Router Plane
Ref: 05P3850
A versatile tool for fine work, particularly on narrow material or in confined areas, this small router plane is invaluable for any task requiring small recesses, grooves or dadoes.
The sole is designed to completely encircle the blade when in the closed-throat position for maximum registration to the workpiece, even when approaching from the side or working the edge. This also allows it to bridge recesses, providing great stability even on narrow stock.
The blade may be positioned inboard for standard closed-throat use, or outboard, with the cutting edge of the blade extending beyond the body, for true bullnose work. The blade-clamping knob has been positioned behind the blade to allow visibility and chip clearance. Pressure from a wave washer steadies the blade during height adjustments.
The comfortable ductile cast iron body is accurately machined and features a lapped sole. The plane is 3-1/4" wide and 2-1/4" deep, with a 1/4" wide high-carbon steel blade.

Veritas Router Plane
Ref: VP3801
The Veritas router plane is the Stanley #71 reborn with radical improvements. An invaluable tool for work on stopped or through dadoes and grooves, or for any work that requires an area cut to a precise depth. The blade depth is regulated by a fine screw feed that travels 1/32" per turn for precise adjustment, with the resulting depth of cut controlled by a positive locking depth stop. Unique to the Veritas router plane is a spring-loaded blade-clamping collar that holds the blade in position when the collar is loosened. It provides tactile feedback, allowing controlled blade adjustment to a depth of 1".
The ductile cast iron body has been accurately machined and ground flat. Weight is 2 lb. The large wooden knobs are positioned to provide both comfort and excellent control.
Includes three cutters: 1/4" and 1/2" straight, and 1/2" pointed (for final smoothing). The optional fence (made of stainless steel and aluminum) can be positioned on either side of the plane and will work on both straight and curved pieces. In addition to using for dadoes or grooves, our router plane is the perfect tool for inlay or intarsia work, or for cleaning out areas for hardware installation, where fine control is critical.
Optional Fence VP3807 is not included and can be purchased separately.
