Vallorbe Rasps

Half round cabinet rasps. Vallorbe machine cut rasps with a choice of lengths and and cuts. Vallorbe grade the cuts from double zero - 00 ( extra coarse) to very fine - cut 7. The rasps are unhandled but we can supply the correct Vallorbe handle to suit your choice of rasp. Simply add the handle from the section at the bottom of this page. Made in Switzerland. These machine cut rasps do not have the superior random stitch of the best quality hand stitched rasps but do offer excellent performance at a lower price point.

At the top of this list we are offering the new Vallorbe equivalents to the Nicholson No. 49 and No. 50 rasps. These rasps are machine cut and out perform the new Nicholson rasps whose production has moved to Brazil from the USA.
Vallorbe 10" Cabinet - Patternmaker's Rasps Ref: RA1559

The Vallorbe cut 5 is the equivalent to the Nicholson No. 49 which is a second cut rasp finer than regular cabinet rasps, while the Vallorbe cut 6 is smoother still. Each has a flat and a curved side, and tapers in width near the end. 10" (250mm) long.

Each tool is unhandled but you can add Vallorbe's own plastic handle to your purchase.
