Vallorbe Needle Rasps & Files Sets
There is a choice of 140mm (approx 5½") or 205mm (8" Habilis) overall length rasps. All the rasps with the exception of the flat rasp are tapered almost to a point.
140mm needle rasps - For these smaller rasps the cut part is approx 60mm (2 3/8"). 60 teeth per sq. cm (plus/minus 15%). This is considered to be a medium cut (Vallorbe scale Cut 4). These will be particularly useful for doing detailed work and for model makers.
205mm needle rasps - 28 teeth per sq cm. The cut part is approx 90mm (3½") have a much larger cross section and are termed Habilis rasps (as yet we haven't worked out why!).
Needle files Sets - we hope you know the difference between a file and a rasp (one has teeth one has lines) - two choices of sets below for very detailed work.
Made in Switzerland. These machine cut shaping tools do not have the superior random stitch of the best quality hand stitched rasps but do offer excellent performance at a lower price point. |
