4 Hour Hands-On Dovetail Workshop (All skill levels welcome) - Festival of the Tree, Westonbirt Arboretum 22-25 August 2008
Classic Hand Tools is offering Rob Cosman's first UK workshops. With a class size limited to five students you'll be sure to get the personal tutoring
needed to learn the techniques of saw cut to saw cut dovetail joinery. Each student will be provided with his/her own work bench and practise wood. The facility benefits from natural daylight and open sides for lots of revitalizing fresh air as Rob walks you through the joint step by step. You will need to bring your own tools (tools available from Classic Hand Tools). £125 inclusive of VAT payable by 1st August 2008 to Classic Hand Tools. These workshops will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon 2-6pm and Monday morning from 10am till 2pm.
Rob has taught hundreds of folks around the world in these four hour workshops. The results speak volumes, his formula of 70% the tools, 20% the instruction and 10% practise will be borne out. There is very limited space and it is reserved on a first come first served basis. If cutting a perfect dovetail is on your "must do" list then don't miss this chance to learn from a master craftsman/coach!
Tool List - Dovetail saw, 1/4" and 1/2" bevel edge chisels, mallet, marking guage, dividers, pallet knife (artist spatula), dovetail marker (guage), pen, fret saw, marking knife, small accurate square, hammer (12 or 16 oz), glue, skew block (optional) and smoothing plane.
