Acrylic Sanding Sealer Ref: CP-ACS

A water based sealer, quick drying and sands easily giving a perfect base coat for acrylic based finishes, woodwax 22 or wax sticks. EN71 safe for use on toys.

Friction Polish Ref: CP - FricP

Chestnut Product's Friction Polish produces a high gloss finish ideal for polishing small items. It has a heavy concentration of shellac which gives a very high build; therefore it is not essential to apply a sealer before application, although a coat of Cellulose Sanding Sealer or Acrylic Sanding Sealer may be applied first if you prefer.

Acrylic Lacquers Ref: CP-AL

A water based gloss finish lacquer which can be used on bare wood or over Chestnut's Cellulose or Sanding Sealers. The omission of a base coat will require extra coats of lacquer to be applied. EN71, safe for use on toys. Quick drying and hard wearing.

A quick drying, hard wearing lacquer with a melamine additive for improved heat and water resistance. Once dry the lacquer chemically 'cures' achieving maximum durability after 7 days. This product does not contain harmful petroleum solvents such as toluene or xylene. EN71, safe for use on toys.

Ebonising Lacquer


Finishing Oil Ref: CP-FO

A blend of oils including tung oil; suitable for interior use (especially kitchens and bathrooms) and exterior use (including garden furniture and ornaments). Forms a seal on wood giving a tough water resistant finish. Several coats will build to a gloss finish if required.

Food Safe Finish Oil Ref: CP-FSFO

Food Safe Finish is a clear food grade oil for use with salad bowls, cheese boards and other items which come into contact with foodstuffs. It dries to a soft satin finish with a high degree of water resistance which will withstand wiping with a damp cloth.

Buffing Wheel Kit Ref: CP-PK

The Chestnut Products Buffing Wheel Kit is designed to give a first class finish on all work and improve the shine on virtually any item to give almost mirror like gloss.

The kit contains three 200mm (8in) buffing wheels. A firm wheel for the first compound - Tripoli; a softer wheel for second compound - white diamond and very soft 'swansdown' mop for the third compound - Carnauba wax.
You can either mount the buffing mops in a drill via a small mandrel, or a chuck with the larger, extended mandrel.

It is suitable for use over most finishes in the Chestnut Product range, including all of the lacquers, Finishing Oil, Hard Wax Oil and Friction Polish. It can also be used over the Cellulose and Acrylic Sanding Sealer.

Buffing Wheel Kit

NyWeb Pads Ref: CP-NP

Fine finishing starts with good preparation! Nyweb Pads are the synthetic alternative to steel wool. Use these mildly 9" x 6" abrasive pads after sanding for that final smoothing process to give a near-perfect surface prior to applying any finish. Very long lasting, these pads are also very flexible and do not crumble, thus avoiding any fear of contamination of your work. Please exercise care when using these pads with the lathe revolving.
